Out of the box, the sleek Urwerk HIS watch is one of the most advanced artificial intelligence systems ever created. Based on the Urwerk UR-105 watch case design, the complex computer system and digital screen will act like any other watch indicating the time complete with a series of other useful information about your life and the world around you, such as weather data, your upcoming meetings and appointments, as well as offering important reminders. However, the Urwerk HIS will not yet have a voice, as it spends at least four weeks in a silent learning mode getting to know its wearer, their daily habits, and quietly monitoring their life.
A good point to make is that we like to focus on mechanical watches, because that is what we are the most interested in, along with the occasional smart watch, we love a solid Casio and we do write about some other quartz watches. But, our focus is on mechanical watches. Yes, there are some very low-end mechanical watches in the 0 - 0 range, but frankly speaking, none of us would seriously wear those, as their quality is not particularly good.
The Dodane Type 23 has opened my eyes: The world of watchmaking is vaster than the billboards and glossy magazine articles might have us believe. When you think about visiting a fair like Baselworld, the big names instantly pop into your mind: Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Patek... But there is another treat in store – the joy of unearthing a brand you know little about and getting the chance to learn more.
So what do those two crowns do? Although we have covered the Arnold & Son DTE Double Tourbillon Escapement Dual Time watch before, for those who are seeing it for the first time, we will elaborate on that. As the name of the watch – which can be shortened to the Arnold & Son DTE – suggests, this watch features more than the two dial-mounted tourbillons, as those are matched to two time zones as well! Now, this isn't your run of the mill world timer, with a proxy hand to indicate a second time zone, oh no – this is a dual time watch in the literal sense of the word. Those two silvery opaline dials on the face of the watch can be independently set by those two crowns so that any time can appear on either. In fact, these dials are so independent of each other, they even have their own train, escapement, and thus, tourbillon. They do, however, share a pair of barrels that are wound by the 2 o'clock crown and generate an impressive power reserve of 90 hours.
The caliber 01.08-C automatic movement is something Chopard is so proud of they have put its name on the dial of the watch. I suppose they believe it will take such efforts to communicate to people that their new Chopard Mille Miglia GTS watches are more than just a facial refresh of what has been previously offered. The 01.08-C operates a 4Hz (28,800 bph) with a welcome 60 hours of power reserve. The movement is also COSC Chronometer certified. On the dial, you have the time, power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock, and the date. The fuel gauge-style power reserve indicator is a nice touch, and I like how Chopard designed it to be slightly recessed into the dial.
First let me share some information from Olio on how they explain the key features and areas of differentiation of the Olio Model 1 and their software:
On aBlogtoWatch, if a watch with "Ferrari" in the name is mentioned, you will probably think of Hublot. That is mostly accurate, since Hublot is an official partner of Ferrari and their official high-end watch making partner which started back in 2011. So while Hublot makes all of Ferrari's most expensive timepieces, there needs to be a collection of Ferrari watches for everyone else. The company that has that privilege is Movado. In 2012, I covered the Movado Ferrari watches here that replaced the "sun" on the classic Museum Dial watch with the Ferrari prancing horse logo.
Aesthetically, I think this works well. The simplistic color scheme is rugged and to the point. The subtle flashes of orange enliven what would otherwise be a somewhat muted timepiece. Legibility is excellent and although it is unclear how much of the dial markers are luminous, the hands are substantial filled with luminous paint so as to be functional in low light conditions.
11. G-FORCE: Acceleration, the G-force, can be measured automatically during liftoff, during the re-entry phase, or be initiated at a chosen point in time. During measurement, the highest G-force value is stored in a separate memory.
When Apple debuted the Apple Watch back in September 2014, there was no specific mention as to the battery life. Like all portable electronics, the specific battery life is going to depend on someone's particular usage and how often they are using it. We knew that in order to preserve some battery life, the Apple Watch was going to off-load some computational tasks to the iPhone. That, of course, opens up the question of how much of a drain on the iPhone's battery life the Apple Watch will be.

If you want to be a little bit like Mr. Briatore and have the funds, Mr. Arabo will no doubt find a way of producing your perfect item of timepiece opulence. The Jacob & Co. Billionaire Watch is a bit insane, but that's Flavio's dream, and he can rest assured that no one else will be walking around with one of these. It sounds silly and like the last problem anyone will ever actually worry about having, but people with this type of wealth really do care about the fact that they have stuff no one else has - and for Mr. Briatore and a lot of other Jacob & Co. clients, that means a bracelet full of large diamonds that happens to tell the time if you look closely enough. Price for the Jacob & Co. Billionaire Watch is 18,000,000 Swiss Francs (currently about ,848,500 USD). jacobandco.com

Exhibitions are one of the best ways to get watch lovers and collectors to sit up and take notice of your brand. Watches from the archives and watches of great significance have a magnetic effect on watch lovers – especially the hardcore ones. This is doubly true for brands with great history. And when it comes to history, few brands can match the innovation, passion, and drama of TAG Heuer. To celebrate this grand history, TAG Heuer is holding a special exhibition that will take place simultaneously in 10 cities across the world, with each city boasting its own special theme with very special corresponding watches. They are calling this exhibition the Heuer Globetrotter exhibition.
With that said, Apple is going to make a lot of money on straps and bracelets. Some people might stick with just one strap, but I have a feeling the average Apple Watch wearer is going to have 2-3 straps before long. Apple designed most straps to look good with most versions of the Apple Watch - with mixing and matching looks to be something that will be encouraged. It isn't clear yet whether or not third-parties will have the ability to sell Apple Watch straps - but I think that eventually they will. Apple has even hinted that what we are seeing in terms of available straps and bracelets is just the beginning, so expect that the fashionable element of the Apple Watch to be just beginning.
The indicator for the time on the Bovet Dimier Recital 15 is appealing because it has a nicely functioning retrograde minutes and instant-jumping hour indicator. While this is clearly a non-traditional means of indicating the time, it is nevertheless still very legible. To the far right is a window that displays the current hour, and to its left is a 0 - 60 scale meant to indicate the minutes. A retrograde hand is one that jumps back to its starting position when it gets to the end of a scale. Retrograde hands are interesting and fun to use but are generally less reliable than standard hands because they require increased maintenance over the years and can sometimes be set in only one direction.
Itay Noy is an independent brand for people who like to make a statement, for those who enjoy the bizarre and fanciful, and for people who believe in supporting skilled artisans and their work. The Itay Noy Part Time is a polarizing watch, with a host of contentious design elements that will pay back your monetary investment in conversation topics.
